Posted at:Thu Mar 22 07:45:07 2012Jean-Francois DockesHi,
Sorry to address you in English on a Chinese language page, but I dont' speak Chinese at all.
I found your translation of the recoll manual while using google to search for recoll problems (I am the recoll programmer).
I find it quite fantastic that there is a Chinese translation of the manual, because, while I know of some people who use Recoll to search documents at least partially written in Chinese, I have relatively little feedback from Chinese user, not being a Chinese speaker myself.
I would very much like to know more about recoll and Chinese users (you in particular of course). What are you doing with it, what could be improved, do you think it would be a good idea to translate the GUI messages, etc.
If you would like to get in touch with me at the above email, I'd be quite pleased.
Regards,
jf
Posted at:Thu Mar 22 08:13:04 2012adminHi,
...... Firstly , it's my honour to here from you , the author of Recoll. Recoll is amazing ! It helped me find a picture scanned a few years ago , which hides on my hard disk.
I wish that you can understand my english.
I found the manual infecting (or something that is very GOOD-WRITING) , so I decided to translate it. However , it's so long (50 pages in LibreOffice) that I chopped some paragraphs. I'll add the chopped paragraphs later .
Of course , I'd like to translate the GUI , I even thought of this while translating the manual. I'll write to you some day ,;). I myself is a programmer using QT , so the translating work is easy for me . Just generate the ts file and I'll translate it and send you the qm file.
With Recoll , I just got one problem. The error message is:
:2:../index/indexer.cpp:264:ConfIndexer::createAspellDict: aspell buildDict failed: aspell dictionary creation command failed.
One possible reason might be missing language data files for lang = zh
There is not any aspell dictionary of Chinese language . I think that's the cause of this problem. I have to disable the stemming totally to avoid this. But I don't know how to disable stemming for Chinese while enable stemming for English.Hi,
